Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2015, CAPA has grown to become a school of distinction with graduates gaining professional employment in both South Africa and around the world such as Cape Dance Company, Nederlands Dans Theater 1 and Joburg Ballet and lead roles in international touring productions including The Lion King, Cats, Dirty Dancing, Singin’ in the Rain and much, much more. Led by Director Debbie Turner and supported by an outstanding faculty of highly experienced local and international teachers, CAPA is focused on bringing out the best in every student and allowing their passion, creativity and artistry to grow.

Alongside its carefully designed training programs, CAPA is home to CDCII, a youth dance company for talented students on their way to a professional career in dance. Students are aged between approximately 14 and 21 years and work with emerging South African and international choreographers to perform original work in major performance seasons including the Grahamstown National Arts Festival – South Africa’s premier national arts festival. This invaluable experience places CAPA at the forefront of professional dance training in the country.
CAPA also houses Cape Dance Company, a professional dance company that has reached international acclaim. Performing both nationally and internationally, many of its members are graduates from CAPA. Thus, CAPA holds a major role within South Africa’s dance and performing arts sector providing high quality vocational training for aspirant dance students.
CAPA is located in Tokai, just 22kms from Cape Town’s city centre in the picturesque Constantia Valley region. Situated within a secure business park, CAPA is a custom designed dance facility offering:
